Tremaine Allen's Success Journey
Live Your Life With Pure Comfort.
Hello. My name is Tremaine. I am 22 years old, and am writing to give a short story of my experiences through my weight loss
at Pure Comfort. Now initially, I had absolutely no interest in joining a weight loss program.
At the moment, I was actually losing weight. When I joined, I was about 10lbs down, so I felt fine continuing my weight loss alone. Why would I even need to join? I knew how to eat healthy and exercise. As a matter of fact, those two things had been a part of my lifestyle since I was a small child- all home cooked meals, no sugary or fatty snacks, just fruit and a yogurt, and an athlete since the age of 5.
However, I struggled with weight from I was a toddler, and I was extremely frustrated with constantly having to go above and beyond to just be healthy and comfortable with my body.
My mother was frustrated with seeing me struggle, so she suggested that I joined the same program she was a part of when younger. She was paying for it, so I said to myself that it wouldn’t hurt to go. Also, she was paying, and I would die before I waste her money.
Surprisingly, when I began the meetings, I found that I actually enjoyed them. Seeing people go through the same struggles as you actually helps. It gives you something to bond over, and seeing others do well and sharing their experiences actually helps to motivate you.
Growing up, I was surrounded by small, not overweight children, unlike myself, and that extended through college, especially as an athlete that swam, an extremely high calorie burning sport (training 4-6 hours a day, 6-7 days a week while being picky with food because you don’t want to gain weight, but still struggling with weight is an experience; not a fun experience, but an experience none the less).
Overtime, I began to really enjoy being a part of the Pure Comfort program, and I think what made it the most enjoyable is the people. I really like the members; I think they are wonderful people, and they just give me a boost of energy every time I see them. With the encouragement from others and little tips and advice from others to implement in my lifestyle, I gained more and more motivation to do even better that what I initially came to do.
Now, everyone’s weight loss journey is different, and that includes the rate at which weight is lost. For me, I was always quite slow in losing any significant amount of weight. Usually there is a big loss between the first and second week, but that has never been true for me. I typically just lose the healthy standard, between 1-2 lbs (usually a little over 1). Such a slow loss would be frustrating to most, but you must learn to be patient.
Yes losing the fat is great, but taking care of your body is much more than just fat loss. Clean eating and exercise leads to muscle gain, good blood pressure and blood sugar levels, better organ function (especially the heart, liver and kidneys), and so much more. Taking care of yourself is a full circle of benefits.
But, to maintain a healthy lifestyle first requires having a healthy mindset of what healthy living is. If you have a good mindset, then really, living well is pretty easy. Some days will be difficult, but it easy to rebound and continue on to becoming or maintaining that healthiest that you could be. For me, it is all about how you look at life.
If you just see restrictions (there really are none; you can enjoy food, just in moderation) and dieting, then you will most definitely fail. Like everything in life, you must have a healthy, manageable goal and a consistent motivation to succeed.
I personally set a monthly weight loss goal for short term, and that overall translates to my long term goal. I also try to stay creative with what I eat and do in terms of activity to stay on track with my weight loss.
I experiment with cooking different types of food and dishes from around the globe, I grow some of my own fruits and vegetables, and I mix up my workout routine (cardio, weights, walking, dance) to keep myself fresh.
Many people become bored with weight loss because everything becomes routine. Now, there will be some routine that needs to be maintained like always doing meal prep and exercising a certain time of day, but your food and activity doesn’t have to be so.
Basically, if you embark on a weight loss journey, being successful requires good motivation, realistic goals, creativity, exercise, and really just enjoying practicing healthy living.
Remember, all things are easier to accomplish if you enjoy doing them.
